Bahrain-headquartered private markets investment platform Tanami has closed a new funding round to accelerate its regional expansion, including its entry into Qatar.
The amount of the investment was not disclosed. The round saw participation from tali ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of stc group, Qatar Development Bank (QDB), UK-based 1818 Ventures, and other strategic investors from the region.
Founded in 2023 by Nawaf Almaskati and Faisal Aljalahma, Tanami operates a digital investment platform designed to give eligible investors access to private market opportunities across private equity, private credit, real estate and infrastructure. The platform also provides access to investment opportunities managed by established global asset managers.
Tanami initially launched in Bahrain under the supervision of the Central Bank of Bahrain before expanding into Saudi Arabia following approval from the country’s Capital Market Authority. Through its digital platform, investors can discover opportunities, deploy capital and monitor their investments.
The company plans to use the fresh capital to expand into additional regional markets, with Qatar among its next destinations, while growing its investor base and further developing its technology platform.
The expansion comes as digital wealth management and alternative investment platforms continue to develop across the GCC, opening new channels for investors seeking exposure beyond traditional public markets.
With backing from regional institutional and venture investors, Tanami is now looking to extend its private markets offering across a broader share of the GCC and strengthen its position in the region’s evolving digital investment landscape.
