NVIDIA and Egyptian entrepreneurship platform RiseUp have brought together startup founders, developers, investors, industry leaders and academics in Cairo as part of an expanding collaboration aimed at strengthening Egypt’s artificial intelligence ecosystem.
The NVIDIA AI Ecosystem Reception, held at the Grand Egyptian Museum, featured senior NVIDIA executives including Paolo Guglielmini, Vice President for EMEA, and Marc Domenech, Regional Vice President for the Middle East, Turkey, Africa and Southern Europe. Discussions focused on opportunities for AI development, deployment and collaboration across Egypt’s technology sector.
The gathering comes amid rapid growth in NVIDIA’s local ecosystem. More than 200 Egyptian startups are currently enrolled in NVIDIA Inception, the company’s global startup programme, while NVIDIA’s developer community in Egypt has grown to more than 46,000 developers.
The event also highlighted plans for cooperation between NVIDIA and Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), focused on supporting technology talent, startups and the development of locally relevant AI applications. Egypt produces around 40,000 STEM graduates annually, a talent base NVIDIA sees as important to the country’s AI ambitions.
The reception builds on the first NVIDIA SIGNALS session in Egypt, held in July 2026 and organised by RiseUp, A15 and BitRoot. That gathering brought together more than 120 founders, investors and ecosystem leaders and connected Egyptian startups with NVIDIA’s global startup network.
“Our work with NVIDIA didn’t end with SIGNALS; it was the start of an ongoing collaboration,” said Abdelhameed Sharara, Founder and CEO of RiseUp, describing the latest reception as another step toward connecting Egypt’s AI community with NVIDIA’s global ecosystem.
Egyptian startups showcased during the broader ecosystem programme include companies working across video analytics, biotechnology, cybersecurity and robotics, such as AvidBeam, Proteinea, CyberFuse and Marses Robotics. NVIDIA also highlighted Egyptian technology companies including Intella, Stakpak, Paymob and Thndr among members of its Inception programme.
RiseUp said further joint initiatives with NVIDIA are already being planned as the two organisations continue expanding their collaboration around Egypt and the wider regional AI ecosystem.
