OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, has announced a landmark $110 billion investment round, valuing the artificial intelligence powerhouse at an estimated $730 billion.
The round includes $30 billion from SoftBank, $30 billion from Nvidia, and $50 billion from Amazon, marking one of the largest capital infusions in the history of the AI sector.
In a statement released on Friday, OpenAI said demand for AI continues to accelerate rapidly across consumers, developers, and enterprises. Meeting this growing demand, the company noted, requires significant computing infrastructure, global distribution capabilities, and long-term capital commitment.
As part of the announcement, OpenAI confirmed a new strategic partnership agreement with Amazon, while Nvidia will provide next-generation inference capacity to support expanding AI workloads.
The company also indicated that additional financial investors are expected to join the round as the process continues.
In parallel, OpenAI and Microsoft released a joint statement reaffirming their close collaboration across research, engineering, and product development — building on years of partnership and shared success in advancing AI technologies.
With fresh capital, expanded infrastructure alliances, and deepening strategic partnerships, OpenAI is positioning itself at the center of the next phase of the global AI race.
