Egypt and India are moving to strengthen cooperation across technology, artificial intelligence, digital transformation and entrepreneurship, as both countries explore new opportunities for investment and collaboration between their technology ecosystems.
Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat met with India’s Ambassador to Egypt Suresh K. Reddy to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in information and communications technology and attracting more Indian technology companies to the Egyptian market.
The discussions covered several strategic areas, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, electronics manufacturing, outsourcing, digital skills development and entrepreneurship.
A key focus was encouraging Indian technology companies to expand their operations and investments in Egypt, leveraging the country’s growing pool of technology talent and its position as a gateway to markets across the Middle East and Africa.
The two sides also discussed strengthening cooperation in capacity building and digital skills, including opportunities to exchange expertise and develop programs that support young professionals and entrepreneurs.
India has built one of the world’s largest technology and IT services industries, while Egypt has increasingly positioned its ICT sector as an important pillar of economic growth and international investment.
Closer cooperation could also create new opportunities for startups, technology companies and investors from both ecosystems, particularly as Egypt seeks to expand its role as a regional hub for digital services and innovation.
The talks form part of broader efforts by Egypt and India to deepen economic and technological ties and develop new channels for private-sector collaboration.
