Saudi fintech startup TalMal has closed a Pre-Seed funding round with participation from MM Partners, as the company prepares to accelerate its growth and expand its presence across the Saudi market. The financial details of the round were not disclosed.
Founded and led by Thamer Faisal Alqaishish, TalMal is developing a salary-backed flexible purchasing model that connects employees, employers, and merchants through a single digital ecosystem.
The platform aims to give employees greater flexibility when making purchases while involving employers in managing repayments. At the same time, merchants gain access to a broader customer base through TalMal’s integrated infrastructure.
The funding comes as TalMal transitions from product development and business-model validation toward a broader market expansion phase. The startup is currently incubated at Jada 30, an initiative affiliated with Saudi Arabia’s Social Development Bank.
According to TalMal, the partnership with MM Partners will support its plans to accelerate growth, strengthen its technology infrastructure, and reach a larger network of employees, companies, and merchants.
“Closing our Pre-Seed round represents an important milestone in TalMal’s journey, particularly as we move from building the product and validating the model into the expansion phase,” said Alqaishish.
Muneer Alshahri, CEO of MM Partners, said the investor was attracted to TalMal’s approach to addressing employee purchasing needs through a model that connects employees, employers, and merchants while creating value for all three parties.
With the new backing, TalMal plans to expand its network of corporate and merchant partners and strengthen its technology as it works toward building a broader flexible-purchasing ecosystem in Saudi Arabia.
