Foodics Launches Capital 2.0 to Turn Restaurant Data Into Instant Funding

Foodics has launched Capital 2.0 at Money20/20 Middle East in Riyadh, introducing an automated funding solution that uses restaurants’ own performance data and AI-powered underwriting to pre-qualify businesses for financing. The company aims to deploy SAR 375 million in funding through the solution during its first year.

Foodics, the MENA-based restaurant operations and financial technology platform, has launched Capital 2.0 at Money20/20 Middle East in Riyadh, introducing an automated funding solution designed to use restaurant performance data to pre-qualify businesses and accelerate access to capital.

The launch represents the next step in Foodics’ evolution from a restaurant operations platform into a broader financial partner for restaurants. Capital 2.0 uses merchants’ operational and financial performance to determine funding eligibility, aiming to provide restaurant operators with faster and simpler access to financing.

Access to capital remains a challenge for many restaurants, particularly smaller operators, as traditional financing processes can be lengthy and may not fully reflect how restaurant businesses operate and generate revenue.

Capital 2.0 addresses this challenge by embedding an AI layer into the Foodics platform. Using intelligent credit-scoring technology, the solution assesses restaurants based on their actual business performance and automatically identifies operators that qualify for funding, removing the need for a traditional application process.

Eligible restaurants can select their preferred funding terms and complete the process digitally through the Foodics App, with funding approved and disbursed within four hours.

“Restaurants generate valuable performance data every day, and we believe that data should do more than help them understand their business; it should help them grow it,” said Ahmad AlZaini, Co-founder and CEO of Foodics.

“Capital 2.0 is an important step in how we turn that insight into financial value for our merchants. With a target of SAR 375 million in funding in the first year, our ambition is to make Foodics a financial partner that supports the growth of our restaurants across the region.”

Abdullah Tahboub, CFO at Foodics, said access to capital has traditionally been disconnected from the actual strength and performance of restaurant businesses.

“A restaurant can be growing, generating healthy revenues and demonstrating strong performance, yet still struggle to secure funding at the moment it needs it most,” Tahboub said. “We believe financing should move at the speed of the business. Capital 2.0 is about closing that gap and making capital a tool for growth rather than a constraint.”

Flexible Financing Based on Restaurant Needs

Capital 2.0 can support different types of financing, including working capital and invoice factoring for suppliers.

Funding can range from approximately SAR 20,000 in working capital to SAR 2 million or more for expansion, allowing the platform to serve businesses with different financing requirements.

Rather than relying on larger monthly repayments, repayments are made through small deductions from each daily settlement. This structure spreads repayment over time and aligns financing more closely with a restaurant’s ongoing cash flow.

Foodics Expands Its Financial Services Ecosystem

Capital 2.0 forms part of a wider set of financial capabilities Foodics is showcasing at Money20/20 Middle East.

The company is also unveiling expanded omni-channel payment solutions, alongside new reconciliation and instant settlement capabilities. Attendees are also getting a first look at the evolution of the MyFoodics App into a single account through which merchants can manage sales, cash, payouts and access to capital.

These financial capabilities build on Foodics’ core Restaurant Management Suite, expanding the range of services merchants can access through the Foodics ecosystem while the platform continues to support their day-to-day restaurant operations.

Founded in 2014, Foodics provides a 360-degree SaaS ecosystem combining restaurant operations, payments and financial services across the MENA region. Its platform serves businesses ranging from dine-in restaurants and cafés to quick-service restaurants, bakeries, food trucks, cloud kitchens and micro-retailers.

Foodics says it has processed more than 6 billion orders through its platform. The company previously raised $170 million in its Series C funding round, one of the region’s largest SaaS funding rounds.
