Bluedot, which provides access to more than 80% of public EV charging stations across the United States, has become part of Epic Charging, one of the country’s fastest-growing EV charging software platforms.
EV charging software provider Epic Charging has acquired Palo Alto-based EV fleet charging management and payment platform Bluedot. As part of the deal, Bluedot’s brand, platform technology, intellectual property, customer contracts, and team members have joined Epic Charging. The acquisition was officially completed on May 1.
Founded by Turkish entrepreneurs Ferhat Babacan and Selinay Parlak, Bluedot developed a unified payment solution for fleet drivers, eliminating the need to use multiple apps or cards across different charging networks. The platform also offered real-time telematics integrations, smart route optimization, advanced fraud prevention tools, and IRS-compliant home charging reimbursement tracking — capabilities that had not previously been combined under a single platform.
With no direct competitor offering fleet charging payment and management at this scale, Bluedot quickly secured strategic partnerships with leading customers including Rivian, Hertz, Vay, the City of San Francisco, and Avride.
A graduate of Y Combinator in 2023, Bluedot raised more than $5 million from investors including Heartfelt (formerly Axel Springer & Porsche), Ford Driventure, Samsara, Revo Capital, Eksim Ventures, Treeo VC, as well as executives from Plaid, Cash App, and Square.
“Bluedot was built to solve real-world problems fleet drivers face every day,” said Ferhat Babacan, CEO of Bluedot. “After operating more than 100 charging stations and speaking with hundreds of fleet managers, we realized the industry didn’t need another charger — it needed software that could unify fragmented charging networks and simplify the driver experience. Joining Epic Charging gives us the scale needed to bring this technology to the customers who need it most.”
Bluedot COO Selinay Parlak added: “Our customers kept telling us one thing: charging shouldn’t be this complicated. Every partnership we built — from Hertz to Rivian, from the City of San Francisco to Vay — was based on solving that problem. Together with Epic, we can now deliver on that promise at a much larger scale.”
With the acquisition, Epic becomes what it describes as the market’s first true end-to-end EV charging solution for fleet operators, combining Epic’s award-winning Charge Point Management System (CPMS) with Bluedot’s payment and access platform under one roof.
The combined platform is an OCPP-compliant management system that allows fleet drivers to find, charge, and pay across more than 80% of all charging networks in the United States — a combination that currently has no direct equivalent in the market.
Epic also plans to accelerate development of Charge OptimAIzer, an AI-powered energy management system leveraging Bluedot’s fleet data and telematics capabilities. In addition, Epic-powered charging networks will become accessible through the Bluedot application, creating a more integrated EV charging ecosystem for fleet drivers.
Epic Charging CEO Michael Bakunin commented: “Every charging operator is asking the same question: how do we increase charging sessions at our sites? Bluedot answers that question. Fleet drivers using Bluedot will now be able to discover and charge at Epic-powered locations nationwide, creating real and sustainable demand from one of the fastest-growing segments in EV charging.”
Bluedot will continue operating as a separate brand under Epic Charging, ensuring uninterrupted service continuity for its existing customers.
