Salla Acquires Paylink to Deepen Its Push Into Fintech

Saudi e-commerce platform Salla has acquired payments company Paylink, strengthening its fintech capabilities as it moves toward a more integrated commerce and financial services ecosystem for merchants.

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Paylink is a Saudi fintech company licensed by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) to provide e-commerce payment services. The company has built payment infrastructure enabling businesses and merchants to accept and manage electronic payments across different methods, currencies and sales scenarios.

For Salla, the acquisition represents a significant expansion beyond its core e-commerce offering.

By integrating Paylink’s technology and regulatory capabilities, Salla plans to provide merchants with a more unified payment experience spanning both online and physical commerce. The combined infrastructure is expected to support payment acceptance through e-commerce stores and points of sale, including future SoftPOS capabilities.

The acquisition could also strengthen Salla’s international offering. Paylink’s infrastructure supports multiple currencies, payment methods and cross-border sales scenarios, giving Saudi merchants additional tools to reach customers beyond the Kingdom.

Building a Broader Merchant Ecosystem

Founded in Saudi Arabia, Salla has grown into one of the region’s largest e-commerce enablement platforms, helping merchants launch and operate online stores while connecting services including payments, shipping, inventory management and marketing.

The company says its platform now serves more than 65,000 active subscriber stores, with cumulative sales volume exceeding SAR 45 billion.

The Paylink acquisition signals Salla’s ambition to bring more of the merchant technology stack under one ecosystem, connecting commerce infrastructure more closely with payments and financial services.

Salla founder and CEO Nawaf Hariri described financial services as a natural extension of the company’s mission to simplify how merchants build and grow their businesses.

The transaction also reflects a broader trend across the region: commerce platforms are increasingly moving deeper into fintech as they seek to own more of the merchant journey — from launching a store and managing operations to accepting payments and expanding into new markets.

With Paylink now part of its ecosystem, Salla is positioning itself not simply as an e-commerce platform, but as a more comprehensive infrastructure provider for Saudi merchants looking to scale locally, regionally and internationally.
