Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — Q Fund, the investment arm of Qewam Holding, has partnered with New Whys to launch the Black Iris Angel Network (Bayan), a specialized angel investment group aimed at closing the early-stage funding gap and empowering a new generation of Saudi entrepreneurs.

A Strategic Partnership to Accelerate Founders and Investors

The launch of Bayan marks a strategic collaboration that brings together Q Fund’s investment expertise and New Whys’ deep experience in opportunity analysis and venture creation. The network aims to back high-potential Saudi startups while equipping investors with the tools and insights needed to assess high-risk, high-return opportunities effectively.

Lewa Abukhait, CEO of Q Fund, highlighted the importance of the initiative:

“Saudi Arabia is witnessing an unprecedented qualitative leap in the venture investment ecosystem, and we are proud of this strategic collaboration with New Whys. Angel investor groups like Bayan are the lifeblood of this ecosystem—they provide essential initial funding, expertise, and guidance that transform promising ideas into companies capable of rapid growth and meaningful contribution to Vision 2030.”

Hani Thalji, Managing Partner at New Whys, added:

“Our goal with Bayan is to leverage our cumulative knowledge in opportunity analysis and risk assessment to empower angel investors to identify and evaluate investment opportunities with confidence. By offering a carefully curated deal flow, we aim to enhance early-stage liquidity and help build a more comprehensive and sustainable investment ecosystem in the Kingdom.”

Exclusive Access and High-Value Support for Members

Members of the Black Iris Angel Network will gain exclusive access to early-stage investment opportunities in high-potential Saudi startups. Beyond capital, the network will offer:

  • Advanced workshops for investor education
  • Mentorship and guidance on the full investment cycle
  • Structured processes for deal sourcing, evaluation, and management

This support model aims to elevate the quality of early-stage investments while helping founders build economically impactful startups aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.
