August Edition: The Age of AI Agents

Artificial intelligence is moving beyond answering questions and generating content. The next technological shift is about AI that can act, decide, coordinate and execute — creating what could become an entirely new digital workforce.

In our August Edition, The Disruptor explores the rise of AI agents and the global race to build autonomous systems capable of performing increasingly complex work. From managing workflows and analysing data to interacting with customers and coordinating business processes, agentic AI is beginning to change the relationship between people, software and work itself.

This transition could also redefine the startup landscape. Instead of building software that simply gives users better tools, a new generation of founders is creating platforms that can perform parts of the work themselves. The result could be one of the biggest shifts in enterprise technology since the emergence of cloud computing and SaaS.

Alongside our cover story, the August issue tracks the business behind the region’s innovation economy — including startup funding rounds, investment activity, M&A transactions and IPO developments across our markets.

The question is no longer simply how powerful AI will become. It is how much work we will ultimately delegate to it — and what businesses will look like when digital workers become part of the workforce.

Inside this issue: AI agents, the emerging digital workforce, the next generation of AI startups, regional funding news, startup investments, M&A and IPO activity.
