Türkiye’s Newest Unicorn: HubX Secures Up to $75 Million at a $1.2 Billion Valuation

Izmir-founded consumer technology company HubX has reached unicorn status after agreeing to receive up to $75 million in investment from Point72 Private Investments, valuing the company at $1.2 billion pre-money.

The deal marks the first external funding in HubX’s history. Under the agreement, Point72 Private Investments will initially invest $50 million, with an option for an additional $25 million.

For HubX, the capital represents more than a traditional growth round. The company plans to use the investment to enter a new phase of global expansion built around acquisitions, strategic partnerships and continued investment in its consumer technology portfolio.

Founded in Izmir in 2022, HubX has grown entirely without external funding until now. In just four years, the company has expanded to a team of more than 370 people across Izmir and Istanbul.

Its portfolio of more than 40 mobile and web-based products has collectively reached over 600 million users across more than 190 countries.

The company has also maintained profitability while scaling, making its rise to a $1.2 billion valuation particularly notable within Türkiye’s technology ecosystem.

HubX shifts from building to buying

Until now, HubX’s strategy has largely focused on developing consumer technology products internally and scaling them globally. Following the Point72 investment, the company is adding a new pillar to that model: acquisitions.

HubX plans to acquire successful consumer technology companies and mobile and web products worldwide, while also forming strategic partnerships with high-performing teams.

Its acquisition strategy will primarily target businesses and products that have already demonstrated strong user adoption and product-market fit.

Rather than simply absorbing acquired products into its organisation, HubX says it intends to preserve the entrepreneurial culture, teams and product DNA behind them.

Companies joining the HubX ecosystem will gain access to the company’s infrastructure and expertise across artificial intelligence, data analytics, engineering, monetisation, user acquisition and international growth.

The model is designed to help already successful consumer products expand into new markets faster, improve operational efficiency and reach significantly larger global audiences.

A portfolio reaching hundreds of millions

HubX has built products across a broad range of consumer technology categories, spanning generative AI, education, health and fitness.

Products including Nova, Wiser, DaVinci and Lotus Flow have collectively reached hundreds of millions of users worldwide, while several HubX-developed apps have climbed to leading positions in their categories on Apple’s App Store and Google Play.

Over the past four years, the company has consolidated capabilities ranging from product development and user acquisition to AI and data infrastructure into a scalable operating platform.

HubX Co-founder Cem Ortabaş said the company has built an organisation capable of taking products from the idea stage to hundreds of millions of users. With the new investment, HubX now plans to extend that expertise beyond its internally developed portfolio through acquisitions and partnerships with other ambitious product teams.

A $1.2 billion valuation

The Point72 Private Investments deal values HubX at $1.2 billion on a pre-money basis, officially taking the company into unicorn territory.

HubX Co-founder Kaan Ortabaş highlighted the company’s ability to reach its current scale in only four years while remaining profitable, describing it as validation of HubX’s operating model. He added that the partnership with Point72 would enable the company to pursue significantly larger opportunities globally.

Following the investment, HubX will continue investing in its existing portfolio, strengthening its technology infrastructure and expanding its artificial intelligence capabilities through its internal AI Lab.

At the same time, the company will accelerate efforts to identify and acquire promising consumer technology products and teams around the world.

What began in 2022 as a small team in Izmir has evolved into one of Türkiye’s most globally distributed consumer technology businesses. With its new unicorn valuation and acquisition strategy, HubX is now positioning itself not only as a builder of global products, but as a platform for scaling the next generation of consumer technology companies.
