Turkish-Founded 5U AI Raises $3.2 Million to Build AI Workers for Global Logistics

Munich-based, Turkish-founded logistics AI startup 5U AI has raised $3.2 million in pre-seed funding to accelerate the development of its AI-powered digital workforce and expand across Europe. The round was led by London-based Emerge Capital, with participation from senior executives and industry veterans from DHL, DSV, GEODIS, Maersk, and CEVA Logistics.

Founded in 2025 by Yağız Abik and Fehmi Şener, graduates of the Technical University of Munich, 5U AI is building AI employees designed specifically for freight forwarding and logistics operations. Rather than replacing existing software, the platform integrates with familiar communication channels such as email and messaging tools, enabling logistics teams to automate complex operational workflows without disrupting existing systems.

The company’s AI workers can perform a wide range of repetitive yet business-critical tasks, including freight quotations, shipment bookings, cargo tracking, invoice reconciliation, data entry, and customer communications across air, ocean, and road freight operations. By embedding AI directly into existing workflows, 5U AI aims to reduce manual workloads while improving speed, accuracy, and operational efficiency for logistics providers.

According to CEO Yağız Abik, much of the freight forwarding industry still relies on fragmented information spread across emails, spreadsheets, and employees’ personal knowledge. The company’s vision is to transform those manual processes into AI-driven workflows capable of operating around the clock at scale.

The newly raised capital will be used to accelerate product development, expand the engineering and commercial teams, and support the company’s growth across European markets. 5U AI is already working with logistics providers, including TCI International Logistics, as it continues validating its AI workforce platform in live freight operations.

The investment also highlights the growing international footprint of Turkish entrepreneurs building globally from leading innovation hubs. While headquartered in Munich, 5U AI joins a rising wave of Turkish-founded startups attracting international venture capital by developing AI solutions for large, underserved enterprise industries.

As global supply chains continue to embrace automation, 5U AI is positioning itself at the intersection of artificial intelligence and logistics, helping transform one of the world’s largest and most operationally complex industries through AI-native digital workers.
