Bahrain-based startups are being invited to compete in one of the Kingdom’s leading startup pitch competitions, offering founders the opportunity to sharpen their fundraising skills, connect with investors, and compete for cash prizes and additional growth support.
StartUp Bahrain has officially opened applications for its ongoing StartUp Bahrain Pitch programme, a flagship initiative designed to help promising Bahraini startups prepare for investment while showcasing their businesses before an audience of investors, ecosystem leaders, and industry experts.
The programme goes beyond a traditional pitch competition. Selected founders first participate in a two-week fundraising bootcamp titled “Raise: The Art of Fundraising,” where they receive practical training on venture capital, valuation, investment documentation, data rooms, business development, and investor pitching. The programme is delivered by Spring Venture Services, backed by Al-Waha Fund of Funds and Hambro Perks.
Following the bootcamp, shortlisted startups take the stage during the main pitch event, presenting their companies to an expert judging panel before competing for the grand prize. Winners receive milestone-based cash awards and may also gain access to additional investment opportunities and strategic support from programme partners.
To qualify, applicants must meet several eligibility requirements, including having a minimum viable product (MVP), an innovative and scalable business model, an existing Bahraini Commercial Registration (CR), and at least one Bahraini founder. The startup should also demonstrate relevance to the local or regional market.
Since its launch, StartUp Bahrain Pitch has become a key pillar of Bahrain’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, bringing together founders, venture capital investors, government stakeholders, and ecosystem partners. Previous judging panels have featured investors from firms including MEVP, Shorooq, Plus VC, Nuwa Capital, Seedstars, Mumtalakat, and AWS, reflecting the programme’s growing regional profile.
The initiative is supported by Tamkeen and is organised in collaboration with Bahrain’s Ministry of Industry & Commerce, Bahrain Economic Development Board, Bahrain Development Bank, and the SME Development Board, reinforcing the Kingdom’s strategy to position itself as a regional startup and innovation hub.
Founders interested in participating can submit their applications through the StartUp Bahrain platform, where all applications undergo a review process before shortlisted startups are invited to join the programme.
