Iraqi e-commerce startup Rozenama has secured $150,000 in pre-Seed funding as it looks to accelerate product development and expand its merchant network beyond Baghdad.
The round was backed by Iraqi entrepreneur Mohammed Haider, CEO of Aljasmi Perfumes.
Founded in Baghdad in 2022 by Abbas Muhil and Mohammed Fawzi, Rozenama is building an e-commerce platform designed specifically for the needs of Iraqi merchants. The platform integrates local delivery providers and payment options, including cash on delivery, which remains an important part of Iraq’s online retail market.
Rozenama is targeting a highly fragmented commerce landscape where many small and medium-sized retailers still rely on Instagram, WhatsApp and other social platforms to sell products. Orders are often received through direct messages, while inventory, fulfillment and customer information are managed manually.
The startup aims to bring these processes into a single digital infrastructure, giving merchants the tools to launch, manage and scale their online businesses more efficiently.
Merchant Base More Than Triples
Rozenama has recorded significant growth over the past year. According to the company, the number of active merchants using its platform increased from around 250 to more than 900 over the past 12 months, while registered users have surpassed 13,000.
The company is now preparing to launch a fully rebuilt version of its platform on August 25, 2026, with the new capital expected to support its engineering and product development efforts.
Rozenama will also use the funding to accelerate merchant acquisition across Iraqi governorates outside Baghdad. The company says markets beyond the capital have generated the majority of its growth during the past six months, highlighting growing demand for digital commerce infrastructure across the country.
The investment comes as Iraq’s digital commerce ecosystem continues to develop, with startups increasingly building localized solutions around payments, logistics and merchant infrastructure to bring traditionally offline and social-media-driven businesses online.
For Rozenama, the next phase will be about converting that shift into a scalable nationwide e-commerce platform built around the realities of the Iraqi market.
