Bahrain-founded financial infrastructure platform Tarabut has secured $50 million (SAR 187 million) in strategic financing, strengthening its position in the Kingdom as it expands its embedded finance offering.
The financing attracted a group of major Saudi financial institutions and business groups, including Riyad Bank, X-Tech Fund managed by SAB Invest, GIB Saudi Arabia, Zamil Group and Kanoo Ventures, alongside other regional investors.
Founded in 2017 by Abdulla Almoayed, Tarabut provides regulated financial infrastructure connecting banks, distributors and consumers across Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain. Its technology enables financial institutions to integrate services such as customer verification, credit decisioning and financing directly into their digital journeys and deliver them under their own brands.
The company has processed more than five billion API calls across the region. With the new capital, Tarabut plans to deepen its focus on Saudi Arabia and further develop end-to-end embedded finance infrastructure, particularly aimed at improving access to financing for SMEs and consumers.
A key part of Tarabut’s approach is enabling lenders to complement traditional documentation with real-time cash-flow and financial behaviour data. The company says this can help financial institutions assess creditworthiness more effectively and shorten financing processes that can otherwise take weeks.
The strategic nature of the round is also notable, with several institutions operating within Saudi Arabia’s financial ecosystem investing directly in the infrastructure supporting Tarabut’s platform. The financing comes as the company increases its focus on embedded lending and credit decisioning in the Kingdom.
The transaction remains subject to relevant regulatory approvals, including approval from the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).
