Weego Raises $1.1M to Expand Enterprise Mobility Platform Across Africa

Moroccan–Senegalese mobility startup Weego has secured $1.1 million in a new funding round led by Azur Innovation Fund, as the company accelerates the development of its mobility-as-a-service platform and expands operations across African markets.

Founded in 2020 by Saad Jittou and Mor Niane, Weego operates a mobility-as-a-service (MaaS) platform that brings multiple transportation options into a single digital interface. Through the app, users can access and book public transport, ride-hailing services, and other mobility options, simplifying urban travel while improving coordination across fragmented transportation networks.

Beyond consumer mobility, the startup is also targeting the enterprise segment through its WeegoLines solution. The platform enables companies to organize and manage employee transportation, helping businesses provide more reliable, efficient, and cost-effective commuting solutions for staff.

“Transportation remains one of the main barriers to economic activity in many cities,” said Saad Jittou, Co-founder and CEO of Weego. “Our goal is to build the technological layer that makes existing mobility infrastructure more efficient and accessible.”

With the fresh capital, Weego plans to expand into additional cities in Morocco, strengthen its enterprise mobility offering, and further enhance its multimodal platform. The company is also preparing for broader regional expansion across Africa, while exploring longer-term opportunities in Europe and the Middle East.

By combining data integration, coordination tools, and multimodal transportation services, Weego aims to position itself as a digital infrastructure layer for urban mobility systems, rather than simply another consumer transportation app.
