Egyptian tech startup Simplex, a specialist in assembling and manufacturing Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machinery, officially inaugurated its latest industrial expansion in 10th of Ramadan City. Spanning 40,000 square meters with an investment of $50 million, the inauguration was attended by high-level officials, diplomats, and prominent figures from the financial and business communities.

The ceremony brought His Excellency Dr Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance; and a lot of investors; alongside elite international partners, diplomats, and senior government representatives. They were received by the co-founders of Simplex, Eng. Ahmed Shaaban and Eng. Mohamed Mansour.

Attendees toured the facility, showcasing Simplex’s growth journey as a leader in localising CNC machinery manufacturing. The tour included the official ribbon-cutting for the new company’s second factory followed by a comprehensive walkthrough of its assembly divisions, production lines, and advanced technologies.

During the event, Simplex unveiled its latest state-of-the-art CNC machinery. Following a presentation detailing the company’s achievements and vision, the machine was officially launched with the affixing of the “Proudly Made in Egypt” badge, signalling the commencement of active production on the new line.

Aligning with its regional growth strategy, Simplex signed new partnership and agency agreements in both Jordan and Kuwait, reflecting the accelerating footprint of Egyptian engineering products and solutions in Arab markets.

Demonstrating sustainable growth and investment appeal, guests also participated in laying the foundation stone for the company’s third manufacturing plant, reinforcing Simplex’s commitment to long-term expansion and national economic support.

Ahmed Shaaban, Founder & Chairman of Simplex, stated, «This celebration stands as a testament to what Egyptian youth can accomplish when given the opportunity and support. Simplex began as a graduation project and has evolved into an enterprise exporting to 34 countries, proving that Egyptian industrial innovation can compete on the global stage».

Mohamed Mansour, Co-founder & Chief Commercial Officer of Simplex, added: «Our vision is to become a major player in the global CNC machinery manufacturing industry. This expansion marks a significant milestone toward that goal, empowering us to meet rising demand and strengthen our international presence».

These new expansions mark the culmination of many years’ journey of expertise in Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machinery manufacturing. During this time, the startup “Simplex” successfully transformed into a prominent regional player, driven by a team of over 400 engineers, technicians, and administrative staff and a strong customer base of more than 4,523 clients within Egypt and abroad, with total sales exceeding $100 million. Furthermore, the new expansions contribute to creating over 1,000 direct job opportunities, in addition to more than 10,000 indirect jobs.

The inauguration of Simplex’s new factory and the operation of its new production lines contribute to achieving key strategic returns that support the national manufacturing ecosystem. This is achieved through elevating the quality and precision of mechanical manufacturing operations, doubling overall production capacity to meet growing demand, and accelerating production and delivery processes for domestic and international clients. Additionally, it helps reduce manufacturing lead times and minimise reliance on external suppliers, thereby supporting the development of new products that enhance the competitiveness of the “Made in Egypt” brand.

Simplex’s products and solutions have successfully reached 34 countries, spanning markets across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. Currently, 15% of total production is exported to international markets, with plans to increase this percentage in the upcoming phase, backed by the new partnership and agency agreements.
