Arab Therapy, an AI-powered mental health platform founded by Jordanian entrepreneurs, has raised $2 million in a Pre-Series A funding round to accelerate its expansion across Saudi Arabia and the wider region.
The round was led by Jordan-based Manara Ventures, with participation from Anara Impact Fund and Saudi Arabia’s Value Makers Studio (VMS).
Founded in Berlin by Dr. Tareq Dalbah, CEO, and Hekmat Al Hasi, CPTO, Arab Therapy currently operates across Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Germany and Egypt. The company combines digital mental health services with AI-powered tools designed specifically for Arabic-speaking users.
The fresh capital will be used to expand Arab Therapy’s presence in Saudi Arabia and other regional markets, further develop its AI-powered platform and increase access to personalised mental healthcare. The company also plans to scale its enterprise offering, which helps organisations support employee mental health and wellbeing.
Building Mental Health Technology for Arabic Speakers
Arab Therapy has developed an integrated platform that includes a mental health content library, native Arabic AI-powered mental health tools and online therapy sessions delivered by licensed specialists.
Its clinical framework is supervised by certified professionals affiliated with the University of Hamburg in Germany.
The company operates through both B2C and B2B models. Individual users can access mental health resources and online therapy through its consumer platform, while companies can deploy Arab Therapy’s enterprise programmes to support employee wellbeing.
Arab Therapy is targeting a significant gap in the global digital mental health market. More than 400 million people speak Arabic across the Middle East and North Africa, while tens of millions more live across the global diaspora. Yet many digital mental health services remain primarily designed for English-speaking users.
The company believes culturally relevant, Arabic-first technology can help address barriers around language, accessibility and cultural context that have historically limited access to professional mental health support across the region.
Saudi Arabia at the Centre of Expansion
Saudi Arabia will be a key market in Arab Therapy’s next phase of growth as the company expands both its consumer and corporate offerings.
Luma Fawaz, Managing Director of Manara Ventures, said the investment reflects the growing ability of Jordanian founders to build companies serving markets beyond their home country.
“Jordan is on the map, and Jordanian founders are proving they can build for an entire region,” Fawaz said.
Nadia Moukaddam, Principal at Anara Impact Fund, described Arab Therapy as building “the mental health infrastructure for the Arab region,” highlighting the cultural and linguistic gap that continues to exist in the sector.
Moataz Abuonoq, Founder and CEO of VMS, said the combination of AI with cultural and linguistic relevance could significantly improve access to quality mental healthcare, particularly as the company expands across Saudi Arabia and other international markets.
Dr. Tareq Dalbah, CEO and Co-Founder of Arab Therapy, said the company was created to address the lack of accessible mental health services designed around the language and cultural needs of people in the region.
“We founded Arab Therapy because millions of people in our region didn’t have access to mental health support in their own language and in a way that fit their culture,” Dalbah said. “This round allows us to expand faster — into new markets, deeper products, and greater impact on people’s everyday lives.”
The Pre-Series A gives Arab Therapy additional capital to position itself at the intersection of two rapidly developing technology categories in the region: digital healthcare and Arabic-first artificial intelligence.
