Saudi EdTech AILA Raises $3M Pre-Series A for AI-Powered Learning

Saudi Arabia-based EdTech startup AILA has raised $3 million in a pre-Series A round to accelerate the development and expansion of its AI-powered personalised learning platform.

The round was led by Rua Growth Fund, with participation from Jo Academy, 500 Global, Bunat VC, and Fikr Ventures. Jordan-based EdTech company Jo Academy joined as a strategic investor, bringing its experience in digital education and regional market expansion.

Founded in Saudi Arabia and led by CEO Yousef Alsayed, AILA is developing AI-native education technology designed to adapt learning experiences to individual students. Its platform identifies learning gaps, personalises practice based on student progress, and provides educators with insights into where additional support is needed.

The company currently operates two core products: AILA Tests, an AI-native platform focused on personalised exam preparation for schools, and AILA Labs, its research and development arm dedicated to developing and testing new applications of artificial intelligence in education.

AILA is particularly focused on building learning experiences designed around the needs of Arabic-speaking students rather than adapting products originally developed for other markets.

“Arabic-speaking students deserve learning experiences built for them, not just translated for them,” said Alaa Jarrar, CEO of Jo Academy, adding that AILA’s traction with Saudi schools demonstrates strong potential for locally developed AI education products.

Turki Aljoaib, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Rua Growth Fund, said the firm was attracted to AILA’s ability to transform assessment data into actionable insights for educators and targeted learning experiences for students.

The fresh capital will be used to expand into new regional and international markets, strengthen AILA’s AI-powered learning capabilities, and reach more students, educators, schools, and education systems.

“This investment lets us bring personalised, AI-native learning to more students at a moment when education systems across the region are rethinking what’s possible with technology,” said Alsayed.

The funding comes as artificial intelligence increasingly reshapes the global education technology market, with startups developing tools that move beyond digitising traditional learning toward adaptive experiences built around individual student performance.

AILA’s long-term ambition is to establish itself as a leading AI-native education platform, scaling Saudi-built education technology across the region and international markets.
