Sustainable E-Commerce Platform Revogo Raises $300,000 from Akbank

Istanbul-based sustainable commerce startup Revogo has secured a $300,000 investment from Akbank. The company said it will use the funding to further develop its platform, expand operations, and scale the purchasing, refurbishment, and resale processes for baby and childcare products.

Founded by Nur Aras, Önder Hakan Topuz, and Melih Aydın, Revogo was developed through Akbank LAB, the innovation center of Akbank. The startup operates a circular economy-based recommerce platform focused on baby, childcare, and parenting products.

Revogo purchases lightly used items such as strollers, car seats, and high chairs directly from parents, providing sellers with immediate cash payments. The products then undergo inspection, cleaning, and refurbishment when necessary before being relisted for sale through the platform.

Unlike traditional second-hand marketplaces that primarily connect buyers and sellers, Revogo takes ownership of products, processes them, and reintroduces them to the market. This model allows parents to sell items quickly without managing lengthy listing processes, while buyers gain access to affordable, quality-checked, and hygienically prepared products.

The company’s mission is to reduce waste by extending the lifecycle of short-use consumer goods, creating both economic and environmental value through circular consumption.

Bülent Oğuz, Deputy CEO of Human Resources and Culture at Akbank, stated that the Akbank+ program strengthens the bank’s culture of innovation by helping employees transform ideas into startups, with Revogo serving as a successful example of this approach.

To date, the Akbank+ program has supported five startups, with total investments exceeding $2 million.

Why It Matters

The investment reflects growing interest in circular economy and recommerce models across emerging markets. While second-hand marketplaces are well established globally, Revogo’s inventory-led approach addresses two key barriers in the baby products segment: trust and convenience. By handling inspection, refurbishment, and resale internally, the company aims to make sustainable consumption more accessible for families while reducing unnecessary waste.

As sustainability and affordability become increasingly important consumer priorities, startups like Revogo are helping reshape how products are bought, used, and reused in Türkiye and beyond.
