Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the Alem.ai Artificial Intelligence Center, where several new AI, education, smart city and digital economy initiatives were launched.
During the visit, Kazakhstan officially launched the Astana Smart City project, a next-generation intelligent urban infrastructure initiative. Thomas Pramotedham, CEO of Presight, presented a unified AI platform designed to integrate city data and systems in real time, with the goal of improving urban management and public service efficiency.
The visit also marked the national expansion of Tomorrow School, an AI-focused school launched in 2024 under Astana Hub. The program will now operate across 14 regions of Kazakhstan, offering free education to citizens over 18, including beginners entering the technology sector.

Tokayev was also introduced to TUMO Astana Center for Creative Technologies, aimed at teenagers aged 12 to 18, with training across 11 areas including generative AI, programming, game development, animation, robotics, filmmaking and digital music.
Another major initiative presented was the concept of an AI Research University, to be based at Alem.ai. The university will give students access to Kazakhstan’s national AI infrastructure, including alem.cloud, AlemLLM and Astana Hub resources. Studies are scheduled to begin on September 1, 2026.
During the visit, Tokayev also launched the countdown for Games of the Future 2026, which will take place in Astana from July 29 to August 9, and was shown Kazakhstan’s first cryptocurrency payment made through the domestic CryptoPay system.
