Turkey-based eSIM startup Pocket eSIM has secured $1.5 million in seed funding as it accelerates its global growth ambitions.
The round saw participation from Ziraat Portföy, Bacacı Yatırım Holding, Milenium VC, and Negmar Venture. Existing backers including Fonangels, UP Venture Capital, and Iz Yatırım Holding also took part, with Ziraat Portföy doubling down after joining the company’s pre-seed round.
Founded in Bilişim Vadisi by Eymen Özkan and Akif Enes Kütük, Pocket eSIM develops eSIM-based mobile connectivity solutions that allow users to access affordable mobile data in more than 200 countries—without the need for physical SIM cards. The platform is particularly positioned for frequent travelers, offering a seamless and flexible connectivity experience.
The fresh capital will be used to accelerate product development, strengthen the team, and support international expansion. The company also plans to enhance its technological infrastructure, improve user experience, and expand global strategic partnerships.
Pocket eSIM currently serves over 750,000 users through its mobile application and works with more than 100 partners across the tourism and aviation sectors via its corporate platform and B2B2C APIs. The company is also integrating AI into both its API infrastructure and mobile app to deliver more scalable and efficient solutions.
Looking ahead, Pocket eSIM plans to expand its product offering with voice and SMS capabilities, further strengthening its position as a comprehensive global connectivity platform.
Commenting on the funding, co-founder Eymen Özkan described the round as a major milestone for the company. He noted that while previous investments helped strengthen local partnerships and market share in Turkey, the company is now fully focused on global growth.
“We are shifting our focus entirely to international markets,” Özkan said. “We plan to open offices in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Dubai as we scale our vision of making global mobile data access faster, easier, and more user-friendly.”
