Global mobility and delivery platform Uber has taken a major strategic step in Türkiye, announcing an agreement—reached with Mubadala Investment Company—to acquire Getir’s Türkiye-based food, grocery, local commerce, and water delivery operations. The transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.

The deal signals Uber’s long-term confidence in Türkiye and its belief in the country’s fast-growing e-commerce and on-demand delivery market. For Getir, it marks the start of a new chapter of growth, following a period of restructuring and renewed focus on core markets.

Bringing Getir and Trendyol Go Together Under Uber

Once approved, Uber plans to combine the complementary strengths of Getir and Trendyol Go under its umbrella. The integration aims to expand consumer choice, unlock new earning opportunities for couriers, and stimulate demand for businesses across Türkiye.

Following completion:

  • Getir users will continue accessing services via the Getir app, while also benefiting from Trendyol Go’s extensive restaurant network.
  • Trendyol Go users will gain direct access to Getir and GetirBüyük services through their own app.

The move is expected to usher in a new phase of scale, efficiency, and service breadth across Türkiye’s quick commerce and food delivery ecosystem.

“Türkiye Is a Long-Term Investment Market for Uber”

Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi highlighted the country’s strategic importance:

“With its growing digital economy and dynamic consumer base, Türkiye is a market where Uber remains committed to long-term investment. By bringing these two strong platforms together, we aim to support the growth of a vibrant, competitive ecosystem that creates more value for consumers, couriers, and businesses.”

Mubadala: A Vote of Confidence in Getir’s Model

Mubadala Investment Company’s Deputy Group CEO, Waleed Al Mokarrab Al Muhairi, said the transaction reflects Getir’s progress and resilience:

“Mubadala has supported Getir throughout its journey as a pioneering leader in food and ultra-fast grocery delivery in Türkiye. This transaction demonstrates the strength of Getir’s business model and the significant progress achieved over the past year. Türkiye remains a highly attractive market for our long-term investments.”

Getir: Entering a New Global Phase

Getir CEO Batuhan Gültakan described the agreement as a milestone:

“This deal is a testament to the strong operational model our team has built in Türkiye and to the leading brand we’ve created. We are excited to bring Getir’s ultra-fast delivery expertise into Uber’s global ecosystem and to continue enhancing the experience for consumers, couriers, restaurants, and suppliers. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved with Mubadala’s support and look forward to the next stage of growth as part of the Uber family.”

A Defining Move for Türkiye’s Delivery Ecosystem

The Uber–Getir transaction highlights accelerating consolidation in Türkiye’s food and quick commerce market, while reinforcing the country’s position as a regional growth hub for global technology platforms. The combination of Getir’s operational know-how with Uber’s global scale is widely seen as a catalyst for heightened competition, improved service quality, and broader consumer choice in the period ahead.
