Jordanian edtech Abwaab has acquired Egypt-based Eduact for an undisclosed amount, strengthening its push to build a broader education technology platform across the MENA region.
The deal expands Abwaab’s offering beyond student-focused digital learning, adding technology designed for independent teachers and learning centres.
Founded in Egypt in 2020 by Adham Hamed and Ali Hisham, Eduact has developed a SaaS platform that helps educators manage key parts of their operations, including digital content, grading, payments and workflows spanning both physical and online learning.
Abwaab plans to integrate Eduact’s technology and educator network into its wider platform, using its existing content, technology and regional distribution capabilities to bring the solution to more teachers and learning centres across Egypt and other markets.
Founded in Jordan in 2019 by Hamdi Tabbaa, Sabri Hakim and Hussein AlSarabi, Abwaab provides curriculum-aligned digital learning and assessment products and currently operates across six markets in the MENA region.
The acquisition reflects Abwaab’s broader strategy of expanding its position across the education value chain through a combination of product development and acquisitions.
“We’ve always believed that transforming education in the Arab world isn’t about one company doing everything; it’s about finding the best teams solving real problems on the ground and building with them,” said Hamdi Tabbaa, co-founder and CEO of Abwaab.
The Eduact deal is Abwaab’s second acquisition in 2026. Earlier this year, the company acquired Egyptian university admissions startup Apex Education, extending its reach into higher education preparation and admissions advisory.
With two Egyptian acquisitions in the same year, Abwaab is increasingly positioning itself as a regional education platform spanning students, educators, learning centres and the transition into higher education.
