Saudi climatetech Remedium raises $1.5M to scale AI-powered sustainability platform

Saudi Arabia-based climatetech startup Remedium has raised $1.5 million in a pre-Seed funding round led by Kaltaire Investments, as the company looks to expand its AI-powered sustainability accounting platform and strengthen its infrastructure in the Kingdom.

Founded in 2021 by Fawaz Abu-Ghazaleh, Remedium develops technology that helps organisations measure, manage and reduce their environmental footprint. Its platform combines digitalisation, automation and data analytics to support carbon management and sustainability reporting.

The fresh capital will be directed towards expanding Remedium’s artificial intelligence and machine-learning capabilities, with a particular focus on physical-risk modelling, forecasting and automated document generation. The startup also plans to enhance its Climate Intelligence offering, providing businesses with deeper analytics and contextual insights around environmental data.

Beyond carbon accounting, Remedium is expanding its platform into a broader sustainability accounting suite. New modules covering water, waste and energy will introduce dedicated KPIs and document templates, allowing organisations to capture and analyse a wider range of environmental and operational data.

Part of the funding will also be used to expand the company’s computing infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. The move is designed to strengthen data sovereignty by enabling client data to remain securely stored within the Kingdom.

“The need for sustainability accounting is more relevant than ever,” said Fawaz Abu-Ghazaleh, CEO of Remedium, highlighting sustainability’s growing role in corporate decision-making, public-private partnerships and consumer behaviour.

Remedium has previously participated in Saudi Arabia’s NextEra deeptech programme, a collaboration between King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and the National Technology Development Program (NTDP). The company was among the programme’s sustainability and climatetech startups, with a focus on AI-powered carbon accounting.

The investment comes as Saudi Arabia continues to build its climate and sustainability technology ecosystem, creating growing demand for locally developed platforms capable of helping businesses track environmental performance while meeting evolving reporting and data requirements.
