Dubai-based iBLOXX Studios has secured more than $5 million in fresh funding to finalize development and prepare for the global launch of its upcoming third-person shooter, StrayShot.
Operating from the DMCC Free Zone, the studio is part of the DMCC Gaming Centre and actively participates in the Dubai Program for Gaming 2033 (DPG33) — a strategic initiative aimed at positioning Dubai among the world’s top gaming hubs by 2033.
A Mobile-First Shooter with Global Ambition
StrayShot is designed as a mobile-first, high-performance shooter, optimized to deliver console-quality gameplay while remaining accessible on lower-end devices — a strategic move to capture emerging market audiences.
The game includes multiple competitive modes such as:
- Battle Royale
- Team Deathmatch
- Extraction Mode
Set in the fictional South American region of Sierra Verde, players assume the role of mercenaries battling both rival factions and a powerful cartel led by the enigmatic “El Fuego.”
Currently in closed testing, the title will also integrate blockchain-enabled features, allowing players to own and trade in-game assets — signaling iBLOXX’s ambition to blend traditional AAA gameplay with next-generation digital ownership models.
Backed by Dubai’s Gaming Ecosystem
iBLOXX has built strong ties within Dubai’s innovation ecosystem, collaborating with partners such as the Dubai Future Foundation, Xsolla, and the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority. The studio also previously showcased its work at the Dubai Pavilion during Gamescom, expanding its international footprint.
What’s Next?
The newly raised capital will fund:
- Global marketing and distribution
- Live operations and post-launch updates
- Ongoing content development
- Preparation of console versions
“The capital allows us to bring StrayShot to market with the level of quality and operational readiness we believe players expect,” said Domenik Maier, CEO of iBLOXX Studios.
As Dubai accelerates its ambitions to become a global gaming powerhouse, iBLOXX’s funding round signals growing investor confidence in the region’s game development potential — and in mobile-first titles built for worldwide scale.
