Roamless Raises $12M Series A to Advance Its Vision of a Global Mobile Operator

Roamless, a global mobile connectivity startup, has secured $12 million in Series A funding as it accelerates its ambition to build what it calls the world’s first truly global mobile operator. The round was led by Rasmal Ventures, with participation from Shorooq, Revo Capital, Finberg, and JIMCO. With this raise, Roamless’ total funding now stands at $18 million, following its $6 million seed round in 2024.

Founded in 2023 in Türkiye and now headquartered in the United States, Roamless was established by Emre Demirel, Ali Gazioglu, Asim Alp, Selim Aykut, Cagdas Yalti, and Cengiz Oztelcan. The company is building a borderless mobile connectivity platform centered around a single global eSIM designed to function seamlessly across countries.

Roamless offers pay-as-you-go and trip-based data plans through one eSIM that works in more than 200 countries, allowing travelers to stay connected without swapping SIM cards. Beyond data, the company plans to introduce local phone numbers, voice and SMS services, and partner-facing APIs. It reports having already served over one million travelers and collaborates with partners across travel, aviation, and financial services.

At the core of the platform is a cloud-based, carrier-grade telecom infrastructure that manages connectivity across hundreds of networks through a unified service layer. This architecture enables cross-border coverage while giving Roamless greater control over service quality and customer experience compared to traditional reseller models.

The funding comes amid rapid growth in the global eSIM market, driven by increased support from smartphone manufacturers. While fewer than 20 percent of smartphone connections used eSIM technology in 2024, GSMA forecasts adoption could reach as high as 88 percent by 2030. Roamless expects this shift to accelerate further as physical SIM trays gradually disappear from new devices.

Commenting on the milestone, co-founder and CEO Emre Demirel said the company sees significant long-term potential in the market, noting that lasting winners will be those that combine strong products with reliable, carrier-grade infrastructure. He added that Roamless is preparing to roll out local market offerings, B2B solutions, and AI-powered features as part of its next growth phase.

Looking ahead, Roamless plans to expand network coverage, strengthen its global go-to-market and customer support capabilities, and deepen partnerships with suppliers and enterprise clients. A key upcoming launch is Roamless Numbers, which will allow users to obtain local phone numbers in more than 20 countries and make or receive calls and SMS directly within the app.

The company will also invest heavily in APIs and enterprise solutions, enabling airlines, airports, online travel agencies, financial institutions, and superapps to embed mobile connectivity into their customer journeys. In parallel, Roamless aims to deploy AI-driven capabilities to improve network performance, optimize costs, and surface relevant partner offers, while continuing to grow its team across major global travel hubs.
